Real Madrid clinched their maiden trophy under Carlo Ancelotti beating their bitter rivals Barcelona, 2 - 1 in the last night's triller of an encounter. Goals from Di Maria and Gareth Bale helped them secure their 19th Copa Del Rey title last night. With Cristiano Rolando injured, Gareth Bale stood up to the challenge and proved his worth in the left wing of Madrid's strike force. His winner in the 85th minute marked on of the most crucial goals of his career as it sinked the Catalans and their hopes of the only silverware this season.

Barcelona who are already out of the Champions League, now failed to clinch the Copa Del Ray and are in 3rd in the table behind Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. With only 5 more games still to play Barcelona may end this season without any silverware.

Real Madrid are still alive in the Champions League as they face the defending champions Bayern Munich in the semi final next week. With the Copa Del Rey already in the back they look to add to that tally, as they are only 3 points behind Atletico Madrid in La Liga as both teams have 5 more games to play. Rolando's injury and he missing these crucial matches is certainly a big loss to the Spanish giants but yet the manner in which they managed to clinch the major within the reach of their rivals last night was just incredible.
