Having finished fourth last season and a playoff for Champions League to be played, Manchester United gear up to fight along with Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool for the Barclays Premier League title next season as they face Tottenham Hotspurs in their opening match at Old Trafford as the new season kicks off on the 8th of August 2015.

Man Utd have already completed the signing of Memphis Depay for £25m from PSV Eindhoven and also look to seal several other superstars along with the lights of Sergio Ramos, Arda Turan, Morgan Schneiderlin, Seamus Coleman in the talking.

Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Chris Smalling, Michael Carrick, Andreas Pereira all signed new contract extensions and are all fired up along with their captain Wayne Rooney who looks to aim for the title next season. Louis Van Gaal has urged the youngsters to prove their worth in their pre season tour to
the US after they have successfully clinched the Under 21 Premier League Title last season. With contract extensions, new players coming in, youth pushing for the first team slots, Manchester United would definitely look to perform better under Van Gaal next season.

After the exit from the FA Cup, Manchester United are now left with the only challenge to finish in the top 4 in order to get into the Champions League next season. With under performing stars like Falcao, Di Maria Van Gaal is keen to look else every this summer in order to relive Manchester United's past glory.

With much protection needed at the back United have already launched a £28.25million offer to sign the Porto full back Danilo. With many top clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona showing interest in him, United would have a tough time having his signature this summer. Danilo has a £37million release clause in his contract. If in case they miss out on Danilo, United target to capture Nathaniel Clyne. The full back has been very impressive this season for Southampton which kept their hopes alive to get into Champions League or even Europa League next season. Another interesting prospect at the back would be return of Nemanja Vidic. Elsewhere the out of contract Dani Alves is set to sign up with PSG on a 3 year deal.

Good news for the midfield as llkay Gundogan is close to complete his transfer to Manchester United. As reports suggest Gundogon has refused to sign a new contract at Borussia Dortmund and is interested in the move to Old Trafford. United reportedly close in on their £19.7million target Memphis Depay this summer. PSV already reported that the star winger is keen on leaving next season.

With many players being linked this summer, there has also been rumors of stars leaving United. With as many as 9 rumored to leave. Mata's exit rumors grow as the Spaniard has struggled to find a place in United's starting eleven. Mata was on the bench when United lost their quarterfinal to Arsenal at Old Trafford this week. With interest from Valencia Mata could again return back to Spain next season. Another star rumored to exit is Dutch captain Van Persie and Falcao. The two strikers struggled at the top for United and United look to sign new force with Edison Cavani and Danny Ings already linked with the Red Devils.

Manchester United have taken the highly rated Benfica duo, Joao Filipe and Joao Virginia on trail and if the duo impress during their stint at Carrington they would be given permanent deals at Old Trafford.

The 15-year-old winger Filipe has been dubbed as the 'next Cristiano Ronaldo' and along with the other young prospect Virginia are considered as the best young talents in Portugal in recent times. All the major Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have been chasing the young starlets. Barcelona almost signed Filipe, but their offer was rejected by Benfica who were believing that the youngster would sign up for a long term deal.

United have managed to grab the highly rated duo so that they could add on to their impressive tally of young superstars along with Adnan Januzaj, James Wilson, Tom Lawrence, Jesse Lingard and Michael Keane.

Wayne Rooney is all set to leave Manchester United at the end of this season. This speculation broke out when he was dropped for their second leg Champions League tie against Real Madrid at Old Trafford. Rooney only came on in the second half when United were down to ten men. Sir Alex Ferguson preferred Danny Welback, who scored the all important away goal in the first leg.

Van Persie who replaced Rooney as United's top scorer this season has adopted well to United's style of play, which led Rooney to the bench at Old Trafford.
United are listening to offers of £25 million for the England star and is expected to end his nine year stay at Old Trafford.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Chelsea and PSG are set to bid out for the England International.

Wesley Sneijder close to Manchester United move this January as he refused a £1.6m a year contract offered by Inter Milan.
Sneijder said " It's clear it is the best for everyone concerned that in January I am transferred".

Manchester United wanted to replace Paul Scholes in the mid-field with the Holland play-maker as Tottenham are also interested in the Dutch International.

Manchester United striker Angelo Henriquez who was signed by Sir Alex in the summer from Chille completed his transfer to Wigan. The youngster will make his debut in the FA Cup third round match this Saturday.

Both Manchester United and Arsenal fight it out for Liverpool wonder kid Raheem Sterling. The 18 year old winger is into his last 18 months of his contract at Liverpool, both Sir Alex and Wenger are out to find him into their own squads. Wenger is planning to exchange Theo Walcott for Sterling this January whereas Fegie is planning to put his money out.

Sterling was signed from QPR as a 15 year-old for just £600,000.

Frank Lampard calls it an end to the 12 year long association with the London club. He said that the club has not approached him for a new contract as he is into his last six months of the current contract.
At a press conference he said, "I'm a Chelsea player but at the minute nothing else has been said, talks about a one-year or two-year extension don't exist because nothing has been said and nothing is planned, as far as I know. There have been no talks about anything or about an extension."
Lampard joined Chelsea in 2001 for £11m from West Ham United and is the third best all time goal scorer for Chelsea. He scored 189 goals from 611 appearances.

Arsenal wants Nani by this January and have made their bid with 20 million. Arsenal want Nani to replace Theo Walcott who is set to leave the Gunners this January.

Manchester United winger was on the side line with an injury and will be back soon. He was not performing to the best of his abiblities  at United and Sir Alex even taught of selling him last summer.
United bought Nani for 14 million from Sporting Lisbon in 2007 following the move of Christiano Rolando.
Nani, 26 has 18 months more left in his contract with United. He is now on £90,000 a week and was holding on talks for £130,000 a week which United refused to pay.

Roberto Di Matteo was sacked on Wednesday morning after Chelsea lost to Juventus in their Champions League Group match. Chelsea has to win their last group match in order to stay alive in the competition.

Di Matteo has already been replaced by former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez and will be taking charge for the next league match.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger supported Di Matteo saying "Di Matteo came in a difficult situation and won the Champions League and FA Cup. He did well and there wasn't even any time this season. It is a complete surprise and very sad news."

"Sir Bobby Charlton holds both (records) so that's a great challenge. The guy is a legend and is such a presence around the club." said Rooney in a interview with shortlist magazine.
He also added  "If I could break his record as Manchester United's top goalscorer and maybe even England's...wow! That is such a great incentive."
"I want to play as long as I can and to have shared a dressing room with the likes of Giggsy and Paul Scholes is inspiration to do just that. At least another 10 years would be great."

"I can see myself one day moving back into midfield - I can do it - but I'm not ready yet. I'm a centre-forward and I score goals", Rooney.
"I feel I have plenty of goals left in me. I'll play there [midfield] if I have to and I have done so at United, but goals are still my main aim and the biggest part of my game."

Rooney is at number four in the list of all time goal scorers  at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Peer Mertesacker started in almost all the matches for Arsenal this season with his superior physical strength and control at the back. The German joined Arsenal last season and had trouble adapting to the style of football in the Premier League. Sir Alex at a press conference on Rio Ferdinand said,
"He's still a great footballer. I didn't know his contract was up at the end of the season. Now you've made me panic!"
Ferdinand was dropped from the England side and was not facing a good time from media with his tweets and aging issues. Sir Alex still regards him as the best and has started all the matches for United from the moment he was fit.

Falcao is one of the world's most finest strikers, the Columbian star scored 36 goals in his last campaign and already a head turner with his striking stills for Atletico and made tham win the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea. He scored an outstanding hat trick in the first half which made the blues never come back into the match. With Torres yet to find his form in the Chelsea colors, Falcao is all set to land at the Bridge.

According to the sources, Ashley Cole won't accept Chelsea's latest contract offer and is preparing to leave on a free transfer next summer. Cole was offered a contract renewal with Chelsea which he declined, the England left back is all set to find another club this summer.
